Gel Removal at home
=========
PROCESS:
For gel polish/Apres Gel-x/theSocialite gel overlay
=========
Step 1:
Wash your hands w/ soap & water, towel dry
Step 2:
Determine if you need to remove length, to do so, use fingernail clippers to snip excess length off. Use a coarse file & lightly buff off the shiny topcoat layer of the nail. This will help the acetone penetrate the gel resins.
Note, you can also use a small glass bowl - fill with Acetone & soak your hand for product removal.
Step 3:
Saturate a piece of cotton with pure Acetone & place over the nail & wrap with foil. This will hold the cotton in place on top of the nail.
Note, you can also use a small glass bowl - fill with Acetone & soak your hand for product removal.
Step 4:
Let soak for 15 - 20 minutes. Air will cause the resins in the gel to re-harden, so ensure to remain soaking until ready to scrape off the product (discussed in the next step).
-repeat steps 3 & 4 if you need more gel removed; if you have a gel overlay, you can leave the majority of the gel on & buff. It acts as a hardener to strengthen your nail.
Step 5:
Using a twisting motion, pull the foil & cotton off of the nail. Gently use a nail wood stick or cuticle pusher to scrape off the gel.
-repeat steps 3 & 4 if you need more gel removed; if you have a gel overlay, you can leave the majority of the gel on & buff. It acts as a hardener to strengthen your nail.
Step 6:
With a nail buffer, smooth out the nail.
Final Step - I promise:
Wash debris off your hands & moisturize.
